#MemoryKeepingChallenge: Make a Travel Photo Journal

Documenting your trips and travel adventures is a classic way to make use of a photo album. There is something magical about flipping through a photo album with your family and reminiscing about the trip together.

You've probably seen one of these holiday/travel albums before. So, we're not claiming this challenge to be a novel, unique idea. Rather, we hope that this post serves as a fun reminder to take the time to sit down, sort through your most recent holiday photos, and print them out to store in a nice photo album!

Here are some tips and tricks that we recommend to spice up your photo album and turn it into a travel photo journal.

Use a classic photo album with plastic sleeves to keep it simple
A lot of the times, despite making resolutions to do such projects, we put off making albums because the task seems daunting.

Using a straight forward photo album of this format helps because it gives you the exact number of pictures you need to print. All you need to do is to slide the photos in!

Incorporate some writing into your travel photo journal
Repurpose the photo sleeves as space to provide more context about your trip. Cut a piece of paper to size and write a little journal entry/introduction to the collection of photos! Who did you go with? Where did you go? Any memorable moments you want to remember? If you want to be creative, you can also decorate and draw on the paper.

We love to order the photos chronologically (so that we can essentially flip through the entire trip and relive the experience...). We also write in a little summary of each day, detailing the locations we visited and experiences we want to remember, and place it in a slot before the photos from that day.

Tips to select and print out your photos
When traveling, we highly recommend creating a Google Photos Shared Album with the people you're traveling with. This way, at the end of each day, everyone can contribute their photos to the same place.

After the trip, you can select the special photos and print them directly through Google Photos! You will be able to pick up your ordered prints in a location near you (most likely a CVS) in a day or even less!
